At Charing Cross Medical™ we provide all essential services covered by OHIP and many additional services to patients that are uninsured and therefore paid by patients directly.
At Charing Cross Medical™ we provide:
- periodic health exams (former annual physicals),
- driver’s physicals,
- newborn and well baby care,
- gynecological assessment and prenatal care,
- care for the elderly,
- comprehensive diabetic care,
- basic palliative care,
- preventive screening, health education and promotion,
- mental health and counseling,
- immunizations,
- travel medicine advice and shots
- allergy shots,
- IUD insertions,
- joint injections, viscosupplementation injections for shoulder, knee or hip arthritis, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy for chronic pain from tendon, ligament, muscle injuries or osteoarthritis
- treatment of warts, foot corns, moles, minor skin lesions and “sun-damaged” spots
- minor procedures, including removal of cancerous lesions and suturing of lacerations.
No appointment is usually required for the following (during Drop-In hours):
- Urinary tract infection (UTI) symptoms for urine checks
- Blood pressure checks
- Immunizations (flu shots during the fall seasons, Tb tests, injections when patients being their medication from the pharmacy)
- Allergy shots
Please be advised of our Drop-In hours for the above minor issues:
• Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 10:00-12:00 pm and 2:00-4:00 pm
• Wednesday and Friday 10:00 am – 12:00 pm only
Additional uninsured services charged to patients directly:
- removal of benign lesions, skin tags, moles
- cosmetic injections (BotoxTM), dermal filers, treatment of excessive sweating
- treatment of chronic joint pain, sports’ injuries, rotator cuff tears, Achilles tendonitis and other MSK conditions with Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injections
- travel advice
- completion of various forms and sick notes
